Charles is a Melrose Man, being the only person ever to be crowned Melrosian two years running! He played rugby for the Melrose 1st XV until old injuries and running a business took over. He ran a busy fencing firm called Know-A-Fence for several years but as Best Intent grew it became apparent that he would not be able to do both forever. Charles is the natural strategist of the business and is always thinking about what the company should be doing next. He also knows a huge number of people so if something needs done he knows a man/woman to do it. In his spare time Charles enjoys horse-riding and has his own horse called Harelaw Wizard who is now heading towards the higher levels of eventing. He has two boys and when he is not putting up tents he can usually be found terrorising the local parks and swimming pools with them.
